SMS Communications

Rentbase sends transactional SMS to tenants who have explicitly consented during the tenant portal acceptance flow. SMS messaging is operated through Twilio.

What we send: Rent reminders, payment confirmations, maintenance request status updates, lease document signing reminders, and other operational notifications about a tenant's tenancy. Rentbase does not send marketing or promotional SMS.

Frequency: Message frequency varies based on account activity.

Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply.

Opt-out: Reply STOP to any Rentbase SMS to immediately stop further messages.

Help: Reply HELP for support, or email [email protected].

Third-party sharing: Rentbase does not share, sell, rent, or transfer mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in status, or SMS message content to third parties for marketing purposes. This applies to all categories of data: mobile information, opt-in status, and message content. Data is shared only with Twilio for the operational purpose of delivering messages.

Consent audit: When tenants consent to SMS, Rentbase records the timestamp, IP address, user agent, and policy version. Audit trail is retained for the duration of the tenancy and a reasonable period thereafter.
